On the 1st of August 2021, Novalume Solutions started a new collaboration with the non-profit organisation Elretur, which is a collective collection scheme that handles collection and company obligations in accordance with the legislation. Furthermore, Elretur handles reporting obligations in relation to the Danish Producer Responsibility System. Therefore, Elretur takes responsibility for the management of Novalume Solutions' obsolete electronic waste (WEEE) and batteries, in order to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.

Each year, the total amount of electric and electronic equipment the world uses grows by 2.5 million tonnes. Phones, radios, toys, laptops – if it has a power or battery supply it’s likely to join a growing mountain of “e-waste” after use.
In 2019 alone, the world generated 53.6 million tonnes of e-waste, that’s about 7.3 kilograms per person.
E-waste doesn’t just pose a health risk though. It also contributes directly to global warming.
Through the collaboration with Elretur, Novalume Solutions contributes to increasing the proportion of e-waste that’s recycled and recycled safely.
